Spin dynamics in the U(1) Dirac quantum spin liquid YbZn2GaO5
Abstract: The newly-discovered related material YbZn2GaO5 hosts an ideal triangular lattice of spin-1/2 moments but crucially has no inherent chemical disorder. Neutron scattering data indicate that it may host a U(1) Dirac quantum spin liquid ground state. The first goal of the experiment is to search for any ordered phase down to very low temperature; the second goal is to use longitudinal field measurements to extract the spin correlations and compare against theoretical models of spin diffusion.
